RMIT’s Master of Communication Design places emphasis on industry-partnered projects, typography, design strategy and service design.
简单翻译就是这个专业专注于设计实践、设计策略和服务设计，以批判性的思维去寻找更好通过设计解决问题的方法。
那么这个专业到底适合哪些学生申请呢？
首先我们要明确的是在交互和服务设计专业开始兴盛之前，这个专业其实是一个不折不扣的平面方向专业，融合了传达设计。但是从2015年开始这个专业与时俱进的进行了一些改革调整，结合了交互设计、服务设计和策略设计并发展成为一门非常综合的课程，适合对这些专业领域感兴趣的同学申请。

这个专业的授课方式比较多样，从官网的介绍来看，有lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars, case studies, studio practice, problem-based learning, reflective techniques (e.g. blogs, journals), online and face-to-face presentations, group-based learning and discussions。同时课程也在第二年设置了相关的企业实习课程，可以让学生理论和实践更好的进行结合。

part 3 申请要求
RMIT的这个专业申请要求相对于其它专业都要高一些，主要是多出一篇statement和详细的作品集要求，我们一起来看看RMIT这个专业对于国际生的申请要求吧。
语言要求
- 雅思总分不低于6.5分，单科不低于6.0分；
- 托福总分不低于79分，阅读不低于13分，听力不低于12分，对话不低于18分，写作不低于21分；
- PTE总分不低于58分，单科不低于50分；
- CAE总分不低于176分，任何单科不低于169分；
作品集要求
Your folio must comprise 15 to 30 pieces of your own work and should be communication design focused, although it may contain a variety of work including, art, design or media work that demonstrates the breadth of your interests and expertise, as well as your conceptual and technical skills. For example, your folio may include: drawings, paintings, graphic design, photographs, motion graphics, digital images, models, sculpture, video, interactive media, games, websites, short writing pieces, and/or 2D and 3D animation.
You may also include development work as well as finished work. We recommend you explain each work, to help the selection officer understand the work’s purpose and background.
If your work is a collaboration please detail precisely your role and the role of the collaborator/s.
以上是对于作品集内容的要求，具体而言就是作品集包含15-30页，作品类型没有限制，可以是多种多样的，如果是团队作品需要注明自己在其中具体负责的内容。
Folio submission instructions:
- Upload: You can upload this form as a supporting document in the online portal and submit your folio by supplying links to your creative work on YouTube or other websites.
- Email: You can submit this form and your folio by email to pg.communication.design@rmit.edu.au. The email is to be titled: Masters of Communication Design Application. Applicants must include their RMIT student or applicant ID number in the email.

Please provide a statement outlining your perspective of the current state of communication design and the future of the discipline. To prepare this statement, please read, and use as a point of departure, Norman Potter’s essay ‘What is a designer?’ available at. You may find it helpful to consider the following questions: Are Potter’s ideas still relevant today? If so, which of his ideas are still relevant, and how? Or which of his ideas are outdated, and why? What does this say about the future of communication design?
要求申请者写一篇有关传达设计学科当前和未来发展看法的陈述，同时提供了一本参考书籍，提出了以下几个问题：作者的想法今天仍然有意义吗？如果是这样，他的哪些思想仍然有意义，以及如何？还是他的哪些思想已经过时，为什么？这对通信设计的未来有何看法？同时陈述限定在250字，另外一个更让人抓狂的消息是，需要阅读的参考书籍是一个27页只有文字的PDF文件。
